Adaptoids are unplayable Champions that belong to all six Classes. They first show up in Act 1 where the Collector reveals they are native to Battlerealm and are quite territorial hence the ambushes. He also reveals he infused all of them with ISO-8 to advance their powers and as he did so they evolved. The ISO Adaptoid only appeared in Act 1 and the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. Zero motion comic. It is believed to be the Adaptoid part of the Summoned Symbioid the Collector gave to the Summoner.

Class Adaptoids[]
Before Symbioids started appearing in Rebellion onwards, Adaptoids were found in great numbers in Quests, from Adaptoid Ambush all the way to Thanos Enters.
Adaptoids always have movesets of other Champions within their Class (e.g. a Skill Adaptoid having the same moveset as Punisher or Black Panther). They also tend to have no abilities at all, although in later Quests you can sometimes see them with one or two, but never more than that.
Golden Adaptoid[]
When encountering Adaptoid ambushes, there's a chance it will be a Gold Adaptoid. This variant of Adaptoid is a Mystic Champion and gives you significantly more Gold and also guarantees certain items when defeated. They only appear with the movesets of Juggernaut.
