Battlegrounds, informally known as BGs, is a player vs player game mode, available to Uncollected players and above. It was officially released on September 12, 2022.[1]

Description[]

Battlegrounds follows a similar gameplay as was used in the Summoner Showdown 2021 Semi-Finals and Finals. Summoners must first create a deck of 30 Champions, ban 3 champions of the opponent, select 7 champions for the match, and choose attackers and defenders for each round. The first Summoner to win 2 out of 3 rounds wins.

Cost and Decks: Each Battlegrounds match will cost 15 Energy or 90 Elder's Marks on entry. By default, Summoners can create one deck for Battlegrounds. Additional decks can be unlocked for a set amount of Units, allowing multiple decks to be used at the click of a button - including specific Mastery sets for each deck.

Seasons and Rewards: Each Battlegrounds season lasts for four weeks, with a one week break in between. During a season, Summoners will gain Victory Medals for winning matches, and gaining 3 (up to 5 in later divisions) will promote them to the next tier. Conversely, a Victory Medal will be lost if the Summoner loses or forfeits, unless if they have used a Victory Shield, although losing will not demote them to a lower tier. The list of divisions are as follows:

Victory Track:

Division No. of Tiers Victory Medals Required
Bronze 3 2 per Tier
Silver 3 3 per Tier
Gold 3 3 per Tier
Platinum 3 3 per Tier
Diamond 3 3 (Diamond 3 & 2)
4 (Diamond 1)
Vibranium 1 5

Once the Summoner completes Victory Track, they enter Gladiator's Circuit, and no longer gain Victory Medals, nor can they use Victory Shields. However, Summoners will now compete on a global leaderboard, gaining points on wins and losing points on losses, and they will gain rewards based on their ranking at the end of the season. The leaderboard will be reset at the end of the season and all players will be returned to Victory Track.

Unlike Victory Track, the meta resets every week.

Gladiator's Circuit:

Name No. of Tiers No. of Spots
Uru 3 All (Uru 3)
1500 (Uru 2 & 1)
Gamma 3 1000 (Gamma 3)
500 (Gamma 2 & 1)
Arcane 3 500 per Tier
Quantum 300 (Quantum 3)
200 (Quantum 2 & 1)
Mysterium 3 200 per Tier
Celestial 6 100 (Celestial 6)
90 (Celestial 5)

7 (Celestial 4)
1 (Celestial 3)
1 (Celestial 2)

When players progress through Battlegrounds, they can earn Trophy Tokens from Victory Track, Gladiator's Circuit, or Solo Objectives, which can be used in the Battlegrounds Store for a variety of items, including Catalysts, Crystal Shards, and Elder's Marks.
