Beta Ray Bill is a Cosmic Champion. Being a Cosmic Champion, he has a Class Bonus against Tech Champions, but is weak to Mystic Champions.
Bio[]
Beta Ray Bill is a Korbinite who became a powerful cyborg in order to protect his own people from the threat of Surtur and his fire giants. In a battle against Thor he proved his worthiness to Odin, who was so impressed by Bill’s prowess and honorable actions that he crafted a unique magical hammer exclusively for the Korbinite – Stormbreaker! Armed with the might of Stormbreaker and his own fiery sense of justice, Beta Ray Bill travels the stars in search of wrongs to right and villains to vanquish.
Mechanics[]
Beta Ray Bill’s damage comes from letting his Shocks expire while he is performing a Special 1 Attack. His Shocks last for a very long time but he can speed them up by over the Shock expiration time. You can inflict Shocks with Basic Attacks, but the most reliable way to inflict them is through the Special Attack 2, and if you activate this Special while charging the Heavy Attack, the Special Attack 2 is further empowered.

Abilities[]
Always Active
- Incoming Bleed and Poison effects suffer 50% reduced potency.
- Beta Ray Bill is Immune to Shock and Power Drain. When the Power Drain Immunity triggers, he gains a Power Gain Passive, granting 1 Bar of Power over 0.5 seconds. Cooldown: 14 seconds.
- When starting a fight against Tech Champions or when Immune to an effect, gain a Steady Buff for 20 seconds.
- The Thor Relic increases the potency of personal Buffs by 25%.
Dev Notes: Gaining Power when suffering from a Power Drain is a great ability that can speed up your loop by quite a bit, but you should prepare for it and anticipate its activation so you do not gain more power than you needed.
Call of Thunder – While Charging a Heavy Attack
- Gain an Unstoppable Buff. If struck while this Buff is active this effect goes on cooldown for 24 seconds.
- All Buffs on Beta Ray Bill and all Shocks on the Opponent are paused.
- Every 0.4 seconds gain a 20% Intensify Buff for 4 seconds. Max stacks: 5. Beta Ray Bill’s Heavy Attack can be charged for an extended duration.
- While above 2 Bars of Power: while Beta Ray Bill is below 2 Stacks of Intensify, the Opponent suffers a X Intimidate Passive. At max stacks, the Opponent suffers a 10% Infuriate Passive.

- Activating a Special Attack 2 while charging a Heavy Attack pauses all personal Buffs until Beta Ray Bill has landed or been struck by 4 Basic Hits per Intensify gained, up to a max of 20. Heavy Hits count as 2 hits. This effect does not trigger if it is already active.
- Releasing the Heavy Attack grants a Grit Buff for 15 seconds.
Dev Notes: Call of Thunder pauses all present and future Buffs on Beta Ray Bill, allowing you to focus completely on controlling your Shocks on the Opponent and choosing the best time to throw a Special 1 to cash out without worrying about Buff duration.

Dev Notes: If you need to remove an Armor Up from the Opponent with a Pulverize, but do not want to increase the expiration rate of the Shocks by starting a combo with a Medium Attack, use a non standard Combo instead, for example: Light-Medium-Light-Light-Light. This allows you to use the first Medium and trigger a Pulverize, but does not start a Combo with the First Medium and thus does not trigger the speed up Shock expiration rate effect.

- During this attack, the potency of personal bursts of damage is increased by 200%.
- While the personal Buff pause is active, when any Shock ends on the Opponent during this attack, inflict a personal Shock Passive.
Dev Notes: Aligning the Shocks to expire during this Special causes the Shocks to do a LOT of damage. This is Beta Ray Bill’s main source of damage. In order to further capitalize on this, remember to trigger the Buff pause before throwing a Special 1 since it will keep the Fury Buffs paused and further enhance the damage provided by Shocks.
Special 2 - Call Lighting
Beta Ray Bill calls a powerful lightning bolt to strike his Opponent.
- The first hit grants a non-stacking 15% Energize Buff for 15 seconds.
- All lightning hits inflict a personal Shock Passive. Each Intensify Buff grants a 10% chance to inflict these Shocks through Block.
Dev Notes: Stacking up 5 Intensify Buffs increases the potency of the Energize to 30%, allowing Beta Ray Bill to gain lots of power very quickly and thus activate the Special 1 lots of times, stacking up lots of Fury Buffs and triggering tons of Shock expirations.
Special 3 - Beta Ray Bill’s Wrath
Beta Ray Bill unleashes the full might of Stormbreaker and overwhelms the Opponent with the power of a god.
- Gain a 100% Resonance Buff for 20 seconds, paused during Special Attack.
Dev Notes: If the Opponent is Shock immune, the Special 3 offers an alternative route for damage. Get to 3 Bars of Power, heavy charge to gain 5 Intensify Buffs then release the Special 3, and since Resonance is a Buff the Intensify will empower it. Afterwards, loop Special 1 as often as you can, and since Special 1 empowers personal bursts of damage, it also affects the bursts from Resonance. However, before releasing a Special 1 remember to gain 5 Stacks of Intensify so the Fury Buff from the Special 1 is improved, which also further enhances the bursts from Resonance.
