Block Proficiency is a base statistic that determines the amount of damage mitigated when an attack is blocked. The higher the Block Proficiency, the less damage a Champion will take when they block an attack.
A Perfect Block is not affected by Block Proficiency, since the damage from the attack is already set to 0.
Block Proficiency can be modified in various ways:
- Buffs and Passive Effects that increase Block Proficiency, e.g. Bulwark
- Debuffs and Passive Effects that decrease Block Proficiency, e.g. Disorient
- Synergy Bonuses, e.g. the Heroes for Hire Synergy
- Nodes
Trivia[]
- Block Penetration is another base statistic that determines how much of the opponent's Block Proficiency is ignored, which increases the damage dealt on blocked hits.
- Block Proficiency is represented by a flat number, e.g. 3150 for a 5-Star Rank 5 Colossus. This number is then converted into a percentage using the following diminishing returns formula:
- (Champion Block Proficiency / [(5 * Opponent Challenge Rating) + Champion Block Proficiency + 1500])[1]
- For example, if Colossus' percentage is 60%, then an attack that would've normally dealt 1000 damage would only deal 400 damage to Colossus, if he blocks the attack.
