Critical Rating is a base statistic that determines the chance for an attack to be Critical (represented by large yellow numbers instead of the standard white ones), dealing additional damage and ignoring a portion of Armor and Resistances. The higher the Critical Rating, the more chance that attacks will be Critical.
Champions that cannot land Critical Hits naturally or deal Guaranteed Critical Hits are not affected by Critical Rating, unless otherwise specified.
Critical Rating can be modified in various ways:
- Buffs and Passive Effects that increase Critical Rating, e.g. Precision
- Debuffs and Passive Effects that decrease Critical Rating, e.g. Fatigue
- Synergy Bonuses, e.g. the Enemies Synergy
- Nodes
Trivia[]
- Critical Resistance is another base statistic that determines how much of the opponent's Critical Rating is ignored, which reduces the chance for incoming hits to be Critical.
- Critical Rating is represented by a flat number, e.g. 400 for a 5-Star Rank 5 Colossus. This number is then converted into a percentage using the following diminishing returns formula:
- (Champion Critical Rating / [(5 * Opponent Challenge Rating) + Champion Critical Rating + 1500])[1]
- For example, if Colossus' percentage is 16%, then each of his hits will have an independent 16% chance to be a Critical Hit.
- Ranking Up a Champion increases their Critical Rating, but the actual chance to land a Critical Hit remains roughly the same, due to the Challenge Rating.
