Cyclops (Blue Team) is a Mutant Champion. Being a Mutant Champion, he has a Class Bonus against Skill Champions, but is weak to Tech Champions.
Bio[]
As a straight-laced youth, Scott Summers was recruited into the first generation of X-Men by Professor Xavier. Projecting forceful optic blasts from his eyes, he is a formidable defender of mutantkind. Working alongside his fellow X-Men as their tactically-minded leader, Cyclops works hard to protect mankind both from itself and from the Mutants who have joined the human-hating Brotherhood led by Magneto.
Mechanics[]
As the winner of the Summoner’s Choice rework, Cyclops (Blue Team) is charging back into The Contest with an updated look and a fully new kit. The Precisions and Unblockable Special Attacks of yesteryear have been upgraded and combined with newer effects like True Focus and Power Efficiencies, allowing Cyclops to unleash flurries of beams in rapid Special Attacks. With his optic blasts and an aptitude for planning, the all-new Cyclops (Blue Team) is ready to lead his fellow X-Men into the threats of the Battlerealm.

Abilities[]
Calm Under Pressure
- Always at the ready, Cyclops’s Defensive Ability Accuracy cannot be reduced.
- As an Attacker, rather than running forward when not performing an action, Cyclops stands still. This stoicism unnerves the Opponent and makes them more aggressive.
- Start each fight against non-Tech Champions with a True Focus Buff for 10 seconds, refreshed when gaining a personal Precision. If not active, it retriggers when Cyclops activates any Special Attack.
Dev Notes: While he doesn’t have any Defensive Abilities within his own kit, Cyclops’s Defensive Ability Accuracy does protect the somewhat commonly used Parry Mastery, giving him a very comfortable safety net against the Disorients and Sabotages of Skill Champions.
Like Mantis, Cyclops doesn’t auto-run forward, allowing him to calmly anticipate and set up Intercepts.
True Focus is the Buff also seen on the Serpent, that bypasses Miss and Evade effects. Yes, this does work against Bullseye.
Precision
- A master marksman, Cyclops’s Precision Passives increase his Critical Rating by +X for 10 seconds. These expire one at a time and are refreshed when he gains a new one. Max stacks: 20.
| Tier | Critical Rating |
|---|---|
| 89.47 | |
| 97.37 | |
| 105.26 | |
| 110.53 | |
| 118.42 | |
| 144.74 |
- The third Basic Attack in a combo grants Cyclops a Precision Passive.
- Intercepting the Opponent grants Cyclops a Precision Passive. Intercepting with a Special Attack grants +4 additional Precisions.
Dev Notes: Precisions are the core resource in Cyclops’s kit. Try landing 3-hit combos, then Dodging back and going for an Intercept into another 3-hit combo to build these quickly.
Going for Special Intercepts is a more high-risk high-reward option. With a bit of practice it can become very consistent, and is a very stylish way to start your Special Attack chain.
Signature Ability[]
To Me, My X-Men - Always Active
- Leading the charge, Cyclops stores X% of the damage taken from Bleeds and from Physical Thorns as Adrenaline.

- For each other #X-Men Champion on the team, Cyclops enters his first fight with a Persistent Tactician Charge, each increasing his personal Prowess potency by +X% flat, and his personal True Focus and Precision durations by +1 second. Winning a fight grants Cyclops +1 Charge. Max stacks: 10.

Dev Notes: Until now, Adrenaline has been an exclusive mechanic to 6-Star and above Champions, allowing them to fight back for a portion of lost Health by dealing damage. Cyclops has access to a more specific Adrenaline at all rarities, allowing him to punch right through the dangerous Physical Thorns of popular Battlegrounds Defenders like Korg and Attuma, as long as he never quits and keeps fighting.
In Quests, Cyclops can lead his team to victory, becoming more and more deadly with each victory. At max signature level and max Tactical Charges, Cyclops effectively doubles his Prowess potency, and can reach this extreme even quicker with the support of his fellow #X-Men.
Special Attacks[]
- At 10+ personal Precisions, Cyclops’s Special Attacks are Passively Unblockable.
- For each personal Precision, the first hit of a Special Attack that lands grants Cyclops a +20% Prowess Passive for 2 seconds. Max stacks: 100.
- Personal effects are refreshed and paused during Cyclops’s Special Attacks.
Dev Notes: Your total Precisions translate directly into the effectiveness of your Specials, with each one granting a Prowess. While his Precisions stack to 20, his Prowesses can reach 100. They’re refreshed on each Special Attack, so the more Specials you can chain together the more devastating they’ll become.
Special 1 - Optic Blast
Cyclops uses his Ruby-Quartz visor to focus a beam of energy.
- On activation, gain a 20% Power Efficiency Passive for 2 seconds. Max stacks: 2.
Dev Notes: This is Cyclops’s bread and butter. If you have enough Power left over, the Power Efficiencies can stack, making this attack even cheaper with repeated use.
Special 2 - Beam Barrage
Cyclops fires a rapid combo of beams, blasting his target from multiple angles.
- On activation, gain a non-stacking 30% Power Efficiency Passive for 2 seconds.
- On activation, gain 5 personal Precision Passives.
Dev Notes: This Special is a quick way to build a bulk of Precisions (especially if you manage to Intercept with it). This Power Efficiency doesn’t stack with itself, but can stack with the Power Efficiencies in other Specials, leading to compounding Power savings.
Special 3 - Gigawatt Blast
Scott Summers briefly loses control, allowing his Optic Blast to reach gigawatt levels. He'll be the only witness.
- On activation, gain a 5% Power Efficiency Passive for 2 seconds.
- As an Attacker, this Special Attack can only be activated with at least 20 personal Precisions and only once per fight, but it costs 100% less Power.
Dev Notes: In most fights you’ll probably reach 3 Bars of Power before reaching 20 Precisions, so you’ll need to make a choice between using your Special 2 or pushing Cyclops past that final limit to unleash his true potential.
The 5% Power Efficiency here might seem inconsequential, but remember it’s gonna stick around and compound with all Power Efficiencies in all subsequent Specials, and really is the straw that makes the difference between throwing a lot of Special Attacks and throwing an absurd amount.
Synergy Bonuses[]
Strengths and Weaknesses[]
Strengths[]
- Optic Blast!
- Plenty of Prowesses that stack up as Cyclops throws Specials Attacks can lead to some truly devastating Special Damage.
- True Focus
- As long as he stays aggressive, Cyclops can keep a True Focus active and not have to worry about Missing or being Evaded.
- Power Efficiency
- Cyclops makes use of Power Efficiencies to reduce the amount of Power he spends on a Special Attack, leaving him with enough Power left over to chain multiple Special Attacks together.
Weaknesses[]
- Special Reliance
- While Cyclops is no slouch at hand-to-hand combat, the overwhelming bulk of his damage comes from his Special Attacks, so effects like Cowardice will seriously hinder him.
- Power Punishment
- With Power Efficiencies on every Special, Cyclops is guaranteed to always have leftover Power for his Opponents to Burn or Steal.
- Critical Mitigation
- Cyclops benefits a ton from his escalating Critical Rating, so Champions that resist or punish Critical Hits aren’t ideal matchups for him.
Recommended Masteries[]
- Cruelty
- Cyclops has a hearty Critical Rating, so boost his Critical Damage Rating to maximize his damage.
Recommended Stat Focus[]
Attacker[]
- Andrenaline
- An awakened Cyclops has access to additional Adrenaline, so opting into this oft-overlooked stat focus increases his overall potential Adrenaline gains. It’s a natural fit, seeing as you’ll likely be chasing that white health bar anyways.
Defender[]
- Special Damage
- While he probably won’t be getting many Prowesses as a Defender, he’ll still gain his Power Efficiencies for an increased Special frequency, so opt for the Special Damage stat focus to increase the threat of each optic blast.
Recommended Relics[]
- Storm
- While it might not be terribly lore-accurate… in MCOC, Cyclops’s beams have always dealt Energy Damage, which the Storm Relic’s Runes can support. This Relic also synergizes with Unblockable and Prowess effects, which Cyclops has in spades.
Trivia[]
- Deadpool used to make a cameo in Cyclops (Blue Team)'s second Special Attack before Update 50.1.[2]
- Cyclops (Blue Team), Cyclops (New Xavier School), and Vision (Age of Ultron) are the first Champions to be officially renamed. Before Update 9.0, Cyclops (Blue Team) was called Cyclops (Classic).
