Isophyne is a Mystic Champion. Being a Mystic Champion, she has a Class Bonus against Cosmic Champions, but is weak to Science Champions.
Bio[]
Isophyne, the living ISO-Sphere, was constructed by The Founders millennia ago to protect the Battlerealm and exterminate all who trespass upon its perfection. After a devastating explosion damaged their core, Isophyne entered a state of regeneration, absorbing ISO-8 across the Battlerealm for untold years to slowly reconstruct their body. Now awakened and furious with the clear abundance of inferior lifeforms in the Battlerealm, Isophyne will not hesitate to purge every last Champion to restore the Battlerealm to its former state of flawless superiority.
Mechanics[]
Isophyne’s kit revolves around two primary mechanics – Ego management and Special Attack management with the Fractured Power Bar. Ego is gained by gaining bars of power as well as Nullifying Buffs off the opponent. As for Isophyne’s Specials, Special 1 will inflict Energy Vulnerabilities that will power up both Special 2 and Special 3 for giant damage, setup multiple Special 1s before going in for your damage source of choice.

Abilities[]
Mystical Eidol Physiology - Always Active
- Isophyne is a Mystic Eidol and thus has a Fractured Power Bar and is Immune to Bleed, Coldsnap and Frostbite effects.
- Isophyne’s mystical physiology causes their attacks to deal Energy Damage, and they benefit from Rank 3 of the Mystic Dispersion Mastery when it is not activated. However, their Combat Power Rate is reduced by 25%.
- Both Champion’s Light Attacks have a 35% chance to Nullify 1 Buff on Isophyne’s Opponent. If the Opponent has a Pierce effect active, this becomes a 70% chance to Nullify.
- Whenever any of Isophyne’s personal Nullify abilities activate, but the Opponent does not have any Buffs active, gain an Instant Power Gain granting 10% of a Bar of Power, or 3.5% as a Defender.
Dev Notes: Isophyne’s kit is heavily tuned around Mystic Dispersion, which can very commonly mean you have too much power or not enough depending on the matchup. By granting Power even when the opponent doesn’t have Buffs, Isophyne can reign Specials down on their opponent non-stop, especially with the powerful Fractured Power Bar.
Ever Evolving Ego
- Ego Passives last for 3.5 seconds and expire one at a time, paused during Special Attacks. Max stacks: 10.
- Gain 2 Ego Passives whenever Isophyne crosses a Bar of Power.
- Gain 1 Ego Passive whenever Isophyne Nullifies a Buff.
Dev Notes: As one of the most egotistical beings in The Contest, Isophyne establishes dominance over the competition by becoming more ego-centric as the fight goes on, granting them benefits. Do your best to keep your Ego large to truly destroy the competition and leave nothing behind.

The Living ISO-Sphere - Always Active
- Isophyne will not let any Cosmic threats escape their fate. When a Cosmic Opponent’s Health drops below 10%, inflict an indefinite 125% Marked Passive.
- As an Attacker, activating a Special Attack grants Isophyne a non-stacking Regeneration Passive, healing X% of missing Health for each Ego Passive over 4 seconds.

Dev Notes: As the Living Iso-sphere, Isophyne gains plenty of Mystic abilities with their Signature Ability. Most notably, the Marked Passive to shut down Cosmic threats like Hercules and Serpent. Additionally, they gain a useful Regeneration Passive that can help keep them alive at higher ego counts and a free Power Gain at the start of the fight to jump into your special loops a little bit early.

Special 1 - ISO Harvest
After summoning an ISO-8 wave, Isophyne casts the two scythe blades on their shoulders at their opponent, shattering their body.
- The first hit inflicts a X Energy Vulnerability Passive for 14 seconds, paused during Special Attacks and Strikers. When activated while above 2 Bars of Power, an additional Energy Vulnerability is inflicted. Max: 8.

- The final hit Nullifies 2 Buffs on the Opponent.
Dev Notes: Special 1 is incredibly unique due to the fact that it can now be thrown while above 2 bars of power. This is the not-so-secret secret to maximizing Isophyne’s damage. By looping multiple Special 1s above 2 bars of power then jumping into a Special 2, Isophyne will deal massive damage.
Special 2 - Crystal Chaos
Following two initial blasts of ISO-8 crystals, Isophyne crafts an ISO-8 spear to pierce their Opponent, leaving them completely annihilated.
- The final hit inflicts a non-stacking 100% Wither Passive for 24 seconds. While active, whenever Isophyne triggers a Nullify, they trigger an additional Nullify.
- If activated after hitting the Opponent’s Block with a Medium or Light Attack, this Special Attack becomes Passively Unblockable.
- For each Ego Passive active on Isophyne, they gain a +X Fury Passive for the duration of the Special Attack.

Dev Notes: Special 2 deals incredible damage and also provides an incredibly powerful WIther Passive. Depending on the matchup it may be wise to throw a Special 2 immediately out of the gate before looping your Special 1s, both for the Wither utility but also the more powerful Nullify utility.'
Special 3 - A Gift from the Founders

- Inflict a Degeneration Passive dealing X Direct Damage over 35 seconds, paused during Special Attacks. This damage is increased by 10% for each personal Energy Vulnerability Passive on the Opponent.

- While this Degeneration Passive is active, Isophyne’s Special Attack 1 inflicts an additional Energy Vulnerability Passive.
Dev Notes: If up against a powerful opponent with Energy Damage mitigation, Special 3 will be your go-to Special for dealing damage rather than Special 2. The additional Vulnerability can also be incredibly powerful against larger health pools.

Strengths[]
- Large amounts of Power
- Isophyne is granted Rank 3 Mystic Dispersion, and is also rewarded with Power even when the Opponent does not have Buffs active. This means that they will gain absurd amounts of Power throughout the fight.
- Fractured Power Bar
- With all of this power comes new and unique opportunities for
Isophyne to throw a large quantity of Specials and any order they want. This grants them a ton of fight control via Special Attack activation when needed.
- Simple yet Effective Nullify
- Isophyne Nullifies Buffs at a 35% chance on both their light attacks and their opponents. With the amount of Buffs Nullified and the base chance increased throughout their kit, this is an incredibly simple yet powerful tool to shut down Cosmic threats old and new.
Weaknesses[]
- Time
- Isophyne requires an aggressive playstyle in order to really take advantage of their damage or else her Ego Passives and Energy Vulnerabilities can fall off. When fighting against Opponents that slow down Isophyne’s tempo, they may struggle to deal effective damage.
- Nullify Immune
- Against Nullify Immune Champions, Isophyne cannot trigger their Power Gain either from Mystic Dispersion or from a lack of Buffs. This completely shuts their damage down due to the fact that they cannot keep Energy Vulnerabilities active on their opponent.
Recommended Masteries[]
- Mystic Dispersion
- While Isophyne does get Mystic Dispersion in their base kit, having it will allow them to go even crazier with the sheer amount of Power they’ll gain at the higher ranks.
- Double Edge
- Isophyne is Bleed immune and thus can take full advantage of the Double Edge
