Lizard is a Science Champion. Being a Science Champion, he has a Class Bonus against Mystic Champions, but is weak to Skill Champions.
Bio[]
Dr. Curtis Connors, a renowned scientist, enlisted in the army and served as a field surgeon. During his time serving he was injured and lost an arm. After returning to civilian life, he devoted himself to finding a way to regenerate lost limbs by developing a serum based on reptilian DNA. He used himself as the first test subject, and while the serum worked, it also mutated his DNA and he turned himself into a human-reptile hybrid known as the Lizard.
Mechanics[]
The Lizard wants to inflict and maintain as many Ruptures on the Opponent as possible to maximize his damage. The Ruptures themselves don’t do too much damage, but they inflict further bursts of damage when the Opponent activates a Special Attack. The Special Attack 1 grants a Fervor to Lizard, which makes it easier to inflict more Ruptures, and also inflicts a Retribution on the Opponent, which improves the damage the Opponent takes when activating a Special Attack while suffering from the Ruptures.
After using the Special 1, make your way to 2 Bars of Power, but remember to strike a non-stunned Opponent with a Heavy Attack whenever possible to keep the Ruptures paused. Striking the Opponent with a Special Attack 2 will re-inflict (with some added bonus) all the damage the Opponent took during their own Special Attacks.

Abilities[]
Always Active
- Immune to Poison, and Immune to Heal Block while under the effect of a Buff or an Unstoppable effect.
- Lizard’s Regeneration Rate can only be reduced below 50% by Skill Champions.
Dev Notes: Lizard has no ability to give himself Buffs as a Defender, so the Heal Block/Buff interaction will only happen when Nodes give him a Buff, or as an Attacker, you use the Dexterity Mastery Buff to your advantage.
Lizard Healing Factor
- When struck, gain a Regeneration Passive that recovers 60% of the damage taken over 20 seconds. Guaranteed Critical Hits do not trigger this Regeneration.
- When inflicted by an Incinerate, Coldsnap, or Frostbite effect by a Skill Champion, lose one Regeneration effect.
Dev Notes: Lizard’s Regeneration is very powerful, but slow. If you can burst him down quickly, this Regeneration won’t be much of a problem. As an Attacker, this Regeneration provides a nice safety net for mistakes.
Rending Claws
- All of Lizard’s attacks have a 25% chance to inflict a X Rupture Debuff for 6 seconds. Max stacks: 20.

| 17.4 | |

- When the Opponent activates a Special Attack, for each Physical or Direct Damage Over Time effect on them (excluding effects from Masteries), deal a burst of X Physical Damage. This damage scales with Base Attack only, but scales up with the level of Special Attack used, and the Opponent’s current Power on activation.
| Tier | Physical Damage |
|---|---|
| 66.12 | |
| 175.94 | |
| 440.42 | |

- Personal Ruptures have a 50% chance to be removed when they trigger this burst of damage.
- Striking a non-Stunned Opponent with a Heavy Attack pauses all personal Debuffs on the Opponent for 15 seconds. This effect does not trigger if the Opponent was Stunned during any of the hits.
- Intercepting the Opponent or Punishing their Heavy or Special Attacks inflicts a Tracking Debuff for 10 seconds.
Dev Notes: As an Attacker, you want to keep those Ruptures paused by using the Heavy Attack, so you can maximize your damage. As a Defender, Lizard has very limited ability to place a Rupture on you, so he isn’t much of a threat on his own, but if a node places Physical or Direct Damage Over time effects on you, his Defender threat becomes real.
Primal Rage
- When Immune to a Buff or when a Buff on Lizard is Nullified or Staggered, gain an Unstoppable Passive for 3 seconds, paused during Special Attacks. As an Attacker, if Lizard is struck while this Unstoppable is active, it starts a 10 second cooldown.
- While this Unstoppable is active, gain an Unblockable Passive and +X Attack Rating.
| Tier | Attack Rating |

| 393.55 | |
| 985.15 | |
| 1975.4 | |
| 3370.25 | |
| 8560.35 |
Dev Notes: As an Attacker, you can use the Precision Buff from the Dexterity Mastery to trigger this Unstoppable, giving you a window of opportunity to strike a non-stunned opponent with a Heavy Attack without fear of being interrupted. As a Defender he got no Buffs of his own to trigger Unstoppable and Unblockable, but if a node gives him Buffs, then you should not let him corner you after a Special Attack or you will have nowhere to run.

| 128.28 - 485.29 |
- While the Opponent has at least 2 Bars of Power, they are inflicted with a 100% Wither Debuff.
Dev Notes: This Wither Debuff is very useful, since it allows you to basically not worry about an Opponent reaching 3 Bars of Power due a Power Gain, but still allowing them to throw many Special Attacks that will be punished by the Lizard’s personal Ruptures.
Special Attacks[]
- For the duration of his own Special Attacks, Lizard is Buff Immune.
- Each Special Attack hit that hits, is Blocked, or Whiffs inflicts a 20% Retribution Passive, lasting 12 seconds per level of the Special Attack, and is paused during Special Attacks. Max stacks: 4.
- If the Opponent Dodges a hit, Retribution is not inflicted.
- While these Retributions are within 6 seconds of expiring, the Opponent is more likely to activate a Special Attack.
Dev Notes: As an Attacker, Retribution is extremely important to your damage, without it your damage for sure will lag behind, so find ways to maximize its use. As a Defender, since the Lizard cannot inflict Damage over Time effects on you, the Retribution threat is basically non-existent. However, if a Node inflicts Damage Over Time effects on you, then Retribution becomes a real threat and must be avoided at all costs.
Special Attacks 2 and 3
- The final hit deals a burst of Physical Damage equal to 125% of all the damage the Opponent has taken during their own Special Attacks, up to a max of X damage. Damage counting resets once the damage is dealt.
| Tier | Physical Damage |
|---|---|
| 3480 | |
| 9260 | |
| 23180 | |
| 46480 | |
| 79300 | |
| 201420 |
- Special Attack 3 deals an extra burst of this Physical Damage, equal to 55% of the damage the Opponent has taken.
Dev Notes: Lizard inflicts back all the damage the Opponent took during their own Special Attacks, from any damage source, like bursts of damage, dot damage, Power Stings and even hits when punishing the Opponent Special Attacks.
Special 1 - Reptilian Brutality
Lizard shreds his Opponent with his razor sharp claws.
- On activation, gain a non-stacking 8.33% Rejuvenate Passive for 20 seconds. While this effect is active gain +X Attack Rating.
| Tier | Attack Rating |
|---|---|
| 104.4 | |
| 277.8 | |
| 695.4 | |
| 1394.4 | |
| 2379 | |
| 6042.6 |
- On activation, gain a non-stacking 100% Fervor Passive for 20 seconds, paused during the Opponent’s Special Attacks.
Dev Notes: As an Attacker you want to gain Fervor as soon as possible so you can inflict lots of Ruptures very quickly. So in general you want to use Special 1 before using the Special 2. As a Defender, this Special offers very little threat to the player, however, the Rejuvenate will improve Lizard’s already powerful Regeneration, which can cause the fight to drag on for much longer.
Special 2 - Death Spin
Lizard uses his powerful tail in a spin attack that leaves the Opponent open for a deadly bite attack.
Special 3 - Apex Predator
Lizard's primal rage is unleashed with a series of deadly claw and bite attacks that tear the flesh off his Opponent's bones.
Synergy Bonuses[]
Incoming Synergies to be added
Recommended Masteries[]
- Despair
- Classic Mastery for a Champion with lots of Debuffs.
Recommended Stat Focus[]
Attacker[]
- Block Proficiency
- Lizard needs to bait a lot of Heavy Attacks so he can strike Non-Stunned Opponents with his own Heavy Attack, so some extra Block Prof comes in handy.
- Adrenaline
- Adrenaline pairs well with Lizard’s Regeneration for an extra powerful Safety Net.
Recommended Relics[]
- Ant-Man
- The Power Sting has two powerful synergies with Retribution and the Special 2 damage.
- Hulk and Spider-Man 2099
- The Physical Vulnerability synergies well with the Physical Bursts of damage the Opponent takes during their own Special Attacks, which consequently also empowers the Special 2.
