Marvel Realm of Champions, or simply MROC, was a Marvel: Contest of Champions spin off game, where the Summoners were tasked by The Watcher to solve the conspiracy of who killed the Maestro.
History[]
Creation[]
The Planet Battleworld was forged from many realities grinding against each other like mismatched puzzle. For thousands of years, Warrior Houses have evolved on its fractured surface, isolated from each other... until the Hulking Conqueror, Maestro, marched over the land wielding Celestial Weapons, and forcibly unified the Houses into a single a realm.
But the Maestro's reign was cut short when he was mysteriously murdered. Gone was the ruthless emperor, but also the fragile balance kept by his iron hand. In the wake of Maestro's death, armed conflicts started erupting as the Houses fought for power and influence. Widespread war loomed over the horizon.
But a hero came from the stars... A legendary Summoner capable of infiltrating the Houses unnoticed, climbing their ranks as one of the most powerful Champions of Battleworld.
Asgardian Republic[]
Prior to the Maestro’s campaign across Battleworld, Asgard and the Nine Realms carried on much as they had across the history of the multiverse. The Realms quarreled, the Asgardians stomped out opponents and insurrections, and the Aesir people lived in the opulent but hard-edged comfort they were known for. Relations with the other peoples of Battleworld were positive, based on long histories of old association and mutual benefit, the names and unity of the old heroes not forgotten even as time marched on. When the Maestro arrived, Asgard's people found themselves unprepared, moreso than any could have fathomed. Though they fought bravely with their well-known tenacity, the Maestro was simply too powerful and his armies too great, and the heroic Asgardians buckled under the weight of his strength.
In a desperate move, Odin did the unthinkable and shattered the Bifrost. With the rainbow bridge destroyed, Maestro and his invading armies were forced back out of Asgard, but the resulting blast was disastrous and seemingly took Odin's life in the process. An unnatural frost spread throughout Asgard afterwards, causing massive shards and crystalline structures of unmelting ice to sprout from deep below the earth. The towering glaciers shattered mountains, tore cities apart, and transformed the land irrevocably, with no end in sight. As the dust settled, panic overcame the varied peoples of the Nine Realms, and wars quickly broke out all across the lands, all previous bonds and allegiances forsaken in the name of raw survival. It would be a year of conflict and strife before a new leader arose, one with the strength and will to tame the new Asgard. That leader would be War Thor.
Gamma Horde[]
Once, the Hulks of the Gamma Horde began as a single unified tribe during a period widely understood to be their most prosperous. Each faction was an irreplaceable finger in the clenched "Fist of the Horde" At war, they were unstoppable. The Horde raided far beyond the Green Desert – with some raids reaching as far as Birnin Damisa in the south. While these tales of unchallenged conquest are almost certainly exaggerated by the Gamma Horde, archaeological evidence seemingly supports their claims. A few hundred years before The Maestro subjugated the Horde, that legendary unified strength was shattered in what is known as "The Fist and the Fingers". The details of the Fist and the Fingers are rarely spoken of. Any Hulk who can remember that time is either dead or unwilling to indulge questions. Whatever the specifics, as a result The Fist of the Horde was unclenched to form an open hand
Skaar now attempts to consolidate his power among the Hulks of the Horde; the Red Hulks of the east, the Tribal Hulks from the north, the Berserkers from the west, and more still bicker and fight about the Horde's role in a world without The Maestro. Of all the Houses of Battleworld, the Horde has been perhaps the most affected by his death, and they have a long road to travel before The Fist of the Horde can be clenched once more.
House of Iron[]
When Stark Tower was first forcefully brought to Battleworld by Maestro, it wasn't as large an upset for Tony Stark as some might assume. Imprisonment and dire stakes are what first made Tony put hammer to metal and forge an Iron Man suit, and from this tragic situation, a new Age of Iron would rise. For a time, while The Battleworld was being forged by war, the House of Iron stood as a shining beacon of hope. Innovation and betterment were the only missions of this safe-haven. Enemies were faced on the battlefield, but many foes were turned to friends when shown the wonders of Stark Tech and the safety of dwelling in the Armored City.

Kingdom of Wakanda[]
When Wakanda was abducted into The Battleworld by Maestro, the land was plunged into a state of temporary political disarray. The tribes had only just warmed up to King T'Challa and his plan to open up Wakanda to help people before they were plunged into a whole new world. While tradition is the backbone of what makes Wakanda, the young King knew that if they were going to have to survive in this new world, they would have to accelerate their plans. Utilizing their War Dogs, agents of Wakanda were planted throughout Battleworld, researching their neighbors, making shakey alliances, and forging solid trade routes. For a time, Wakanda thrived by providing the other houses with valuable Vibranium resources.
Sadly nothing lasts forever. Maestro's Gamma Horde had been intercepting more and more of their shipments for an unknown plot. After 14 years of monitoring their captor and patiently planning a counter attack, King T'Challa knew that he must act. Smuggled inside one of the Vibranium shipments, King T'Challa was able to gain access to the fortress of Maestro. It was here that a plan to wipe Wakanda from Battleworld was revealed. T'Challa managed to send out an evacuation notice before being discovered by Maestro. The King of Wakanda then challenged the God King of Battleworld to ritualistic combat. Though he provided more of a challenge than most any other mortal man, T'challa was slain trying to protect his home.
Maestro struck down his opponent, shattering both the Black Panther and the will of his people. As a show of his terrible power, Maestro accelerated his plans, the event known as The Banishment seemed to wipe much of Wakanda out of existence. It is unknown if the lost lands are teleported, destroyed, or shifted to another dimension, but they are most certainly out of the reach of the surviving people of Wakanda. All that was left was the Vibranium mound upon which the territories of Birnin Damisa, and the Necropolis were rebuilt. Those that survived slowly picked themselves up following the reluctant rise of the next heir, Queen Shuri. Though her disregard for tradition has put many on edge, it's her drive to combine the lessons of yesterday with the teachings of tomorrow that built up the Kingdom of Wakanda.
Patriot Garrison[]
This land is made of shattered pieces from an alternate world where it was Howard Stark, not Dr. Erskine, who was shot while Steve Rogers first became the hero known as Captain America. The growing S.S.R. organization's technological development was cut short with the loss of Stark, so their focus turned from firepower to manpower thanks to the work of Dr. Erskine's super soldier serum. Erskine became key in deciding who would gain access to his serum, including many members of a group known as The Howling Commandos.
When their reality was torn asunder to be part of the Battleworld, the collected forces of the Garrison immediately looked to unseat the mad dictator Maestro. It was Steve Rogers who once again lead a charge to enforce the will of democracy on this seemingly lawless land. Clad in armor which was created from the few remaining Stark plans, he now called himself the Civil Warrior. Sadly, their rebellion managed only to enrage the green goliath. Maestro struck down the Civil Warrior, scattered the rebelling forces, and used his might to literally freeze the Garrison in time while he considered a more suitable punishment.
With the mysterious death of the Maestro the Garrison marches once again. A new President was quickly elected to lead the troops against the new challenge of a Battleworld without a ruler. Many look at this newly elected Baron as a cool-headed diplomat who isn't afraid to plant themselves firmly and stand true to their beliefs, but others seek a more blood-thirsty Commander-in-Chief who is ready to take preemptive action to defend the many territories which the Garrison lays claim to. The Patriot Garrison itself is in a strategic position amongst some of the most powerful houses in Battleworld. The populace hope to be a force for justice, but there are dark corners of the Garrison who perhaps thirst for power and expansion of their own. Nevertheless, the chaotic Battleworld is in need of their moral strength now more than ever, particularly as a counterpoint to the expanding House of Iron.
Pyramid X[]
The glorious kingdom of Egyptia was founded by Apocalypse 5,500 years ago. From a backwater full of warring tribes, he transformed Egyptia into the envy of the world, a unified kingdom of knowledge and peace. Behind this revolution was a triad policy: Telepathic Education, Compulsory Eugenics and Nanite Sterilization. "Sageness, Fitness and Cleanliness are the goals of every Mutant under my leadership", Lord Apocalypse preached.
But this Golden Age of Egytptia was constantly threatened by incursions from other nations, like the barbaric Gamma Horde, and the imperialistic Asgardians. The foreign forces envied Mutopia's affluence; but their conquering ambitions were thwarted time and again by the scorching desert belt surrounding the capital, as well as the Horsemen’s armies stationed alongside those territories. However, even their failed attempts were more than a mere nuisance. Constant protection of the kingdom from invaders has cost many precious Mutant lives.
That all changed after the coming of the Maestro. The Green Emperor unified the barbarians into a single banner, severely punishing rebellious Houses with his god-like powers. When his army arrived at Egyptia, the Maestro changed his attitude: he recognized Apocalypse as an equal, offering an alliance instead of war. He named the Kingdom a protectorate: the crown jewel of a new Realm, and primary exporter of culture and knowledge to a chaotic Battleworld.
Spider-Guild[]
A dimensional rift experiment at Fisk Labs became fully functional and in a matter of nano-seconds opened countless doorways to a myriad of new worlds. The machine was overwhelmed and destroyed itself, but not before shattering timelines, multiverses, and reality itself across New York City. This unleashed a population of Spider-People, each from a different world. The advantages of shared knowledge across the entirety of quantum realities became quickly apparent. For a while the island was an epicenter of scientific and social progress. Since many of the residents were slightly different interpretations of the same genius level science student, equality in work and life came with ease. A focus on returning reality became a priority. The dimensional rift creator was recreated in a smaller scale to control more manageable doorways to neighboring multiverses.
Maestro mostly ignored Spider-Island, allowing them to provide neutral and somewhat familiar ground to other Houses in Battleworld. The isle of Manhattan had been home to many heroes and gods, so even the web-supported skyline was a familiar sight which put strenuous negotiations in a more settling atmosphere than frozen wastelands or gamma infused deserts.
The Spider-Scientists continued opening doorway after doorway into other worlds. Hoping to find answers to their odd circumstances. However one doorway proved to be disastrous. Connecting this already shattered world to an alternate Manhattan which had become overrun by monstrous Symbiotes. The population of Spider-Island was either driven away or forcibly bonded with the aliens, until the disgraced scientist who opened the doomed doorway led an army of Web-Warriors to get rid of the Symbiotes. They succeeded, but only after suffering heavy losses. Many, including the lead scientist, were assumed to have been absorbed or devoured by the countless monstrous mouths of the Symbiotes. Following this, all further multidimensional research was limited to observation rather than interaction.
Forest Guardians[]
At some point prior to Maestro's reign, the Knowhere crashed on the Battleworld. This act of fate marooned its original inhabitants on the strange and violent planet. Seeing a world in turmoil, the original Guardians who landed here opted to hide in the nearby mountains rather than launch a blind attack on this powerful being. It was here they found a few small groups of other refugees and runaways who also hoped to outrun the long reach of Maestro. The lost were now found, and the Guardians had brought some much-welcomed relief in their arrival. The Guardians are a true melting pot of misfits and outsiders, and any resemblance of a true form of government is only through the collective power of territory leaders meeting before King Groot to discuss and settle matters in a way that all parties can agree to.
Destruction[]
With the conclusion of Marvel Realm of Champions two final cutscenes were released showcasing the conclusion. The initial eight Barons united to challenge his rule, and summoned thousands of variants of themselves to assist in killing the Maestro. However the multiverse attack failed, they could not kill him as he is a puppet of the The Chronoserpent. Then the Punisher of Ouroboros another minion of the Serpent shows up and murders the Maestro. Anathi the Wakandan reporter tasked with finding that out is captured by this Punisher and taken to the head of the serpent and his Ouroboros minions including Black Widow (Scytalis). There with the help of King T'Challa and the infinity Claw buys others time to flee before Galactus arrives and confronts the serpent destroying Battleworld. Fleeing from the destruction Anathi reveals that The Chronoserpent is a celestial parasite that uses worlds as hosts to grow and become stronger. It empowers native beings to become "antibodies" and protect the planet while the serpent is vulnerable.. beings like the Maestro.
