Dialogue[]
Caption: The trio move cautiously through the Battlerealm, narrowly avoiding airborne patrols and hunting parties. In a moment's respite, Carina turns to the Summoner.
Carina: Alright, I think we can take a breather here.
Carina: So, Ægon gave you the basics: we've been trying to fight Superior Kang while you've been out of commission, but we haven't had much success.
Carina: He anticipates our every move, ready to shut down our plans before we can even consolidate power.
Carina: But we did find out more information about him, how he became so powerful, and why we're a problem for his whole operation.
Carina: The Conqueror is from a timeline where you never entered the Contest. As a result of that, I was never put back together, and Ægon never restored me.
Carina: We're more than a "rogue variable"... we're a complete unknown to a guy who knows everything.
Carina: And that means we're dangerous.
- Transmission #1 - Upon starting the Quest
Carina: Even if Superior Kang is far more powerful and ruthless than Kang, he's still, well, Kang.
Carina: Which means he has to be routing us via time manipulation, somehow, though probably at a much more precise level than we're used to.
Carina: Foreknowledge is power... but we still have a few cards to play.
Carina: I still haven't displayed what I'm capable of, in relation to my command over the Battlerealm's ISO-8.
Carina: I'm certain if I revealed my powers without a plan in mind, he'd surely be able to stop me via time travel. Then we'd be in really bad shape.
Carina: The good news?
Carina: I've got a plan.
- Transmission #2
Carina: You recognize where we are? Asgard. Or the Battlerealms's equivalent.
Carina: Surprising no one, the Asgardians did not tolerate the Conquerer's actions. Odin quickly lead a charge against the Armada.
Ægon: They were unable to stop Superior Kang, but did display the power of Uru metal firsthand in combat.
Ægon: As a result Kang has taken control of the Kingdom, and the Uru Mines. The Armada gorges itself on the region's minerals.
Carina: But we're about to put a stop to that.
- Transmission #3
Mangog: The Summoner. I have awaited another chance to close my hand upon your throat.
Mangog: You fed Odin's arrogance in our last encounter. Denied me the vengeance of a billion, billion tortured souls.
Mangog: I care not for this Kang-creature's whims. I torment this world's people and grow my might for my own purpose:
Mangog: THE DESTRUCTION OF ASGARD... OF ODIN... AND OF YOU!
Mangog: THAT IS ALL THAT WILL SUSTAIN ME!
Caption: In the lower regions of Asgard’s shattered form, the twisting roots of Yggdrasil keep the disparate asteroids tied together, seemingly without start or end.
Caption: Near the heart of the roots a towering form stands, turning to face the trio as they approach.
King Groot: I have supped upon the power of Yggdrasil, drawing its lifeforce away from Asgard.
King Groot: They will become weakened, muddled, and disorganized.
King Groot: The Conqueror’s grasp on Asgard will tighten, and I will become one with Yggdrasil itself!
King Groot: FOR I AM KING GROOT!
Carina: That should disrupt their grasp on this place. Let's see if we can find part two of my plan...
Thor: BY FATHER'S BEARD! 'TIS CARINA!
Carina: Thor! Good to see you! We've freed Asgard for the time being, but there's no telling how long it will last!
Thor: With our wardens disposed of, the people of Asgard shall rise again in fury. We will buy you time. What do you seek?
Carina: We need to speak to Odin.
Thor: WITH ME, THEN!
