Pathways is the fifth Quest in Act 1 Chapter 1: Challenge the Conqueror, and was released on December 10, 2014. It contains 2 paths and has 6 Opponents per path.
As part of the Prologue Initiative, this Quest was redesigned with updated battles, dialogue, and rewards on November 10, 2021.
It is preceded by 1.1.4: Sneak Attack and succeeded by 1.1.6: Malice. Before the Prologue Initiative it was succeeded by 1.1.6: Unraveling.

Captain America: Kang's losing his cool... he might start getting more reckless. Captain America: I'm not sure what that ISO-Sphere entails, but he really seems to want the thing. Captain America: Let's see if we can take advantage of that greed. Captain America: He's bound to slip up if he gets desperate!

The Collector: So much bluster, yet the Summoner still has you on the ropes! The Collector: I wonder if you are even worthy of my Contest, Kang! Kang the Conqueror: Silence, Collector! Your contest is simply flawed, but I perceive all outcomes, all realities! Kang the Conqueror: And in this one... the Summoner is crushed beneath my boot! Captain America: Here they come, Summoner! Eyes up!

Kang the Conqueror: I never should have let this Contest get so out of hand. The Collector: Kang, there is only one way to finish this tournament. You must win! The Collector: That is, if you can... the Summoner is an excellent opponent!
