Dialogue[]
Caption: Nezhno rolls the knocked-out would-be thief onto his side then checks his pulse and airway. All vitals seems steady.[sic]
Gentle: Thank you for the effective demonstration of your skills, Summoner. I personally try to avoid violent conflict whenever possible.
Gentle: My powers, my gifts, they are not without consequence for both myself and those I am forced to battle.
Gentle: I can increase my size and strength. I can do this to such a degree that I could rival most any I have encountered.
Gentle: The strain it puts on my body however… The pain is like trying to hold the sun within my muscles. So I must choose my battles carefully.
Gentle: This vibranium mystery shall likely lead to greater conflicts. To attack vibranium is to attack Wakanda itself.
Gentle: There is sadly a long list of those who would wish our kingdom harm. We make peace where we can. We fight where we must.
Gentle: I wish to check on a former foe who became an uneasy ally. With respect and care… And with your diplomatic assistance.
Gentle: We must journey to the gates of Atlantis.
- Transmission #1 - Upon starting the Quest
Caption: The duo approach the surface-side gates of Atlantis. They are massive works of art crafted from pearl and coral by the seas themselves.
Gentle: I admit, I am excited to venture in and chat with the locals. A bit of "word on the street" intel could be helpful.
Gentle: Though I usually prefer silence, I have a feeling I should do the talking once we figure out how to enter the city.
Caption: The gates smoothly open just far enough to let a lone figure step through. Closing behind them with a remarkable "thump".
Namor: Allow me to save us all some time. These gates are closed for a reason. My kingdom is no longer open to outsiders.
Caption: Gentle's eyes go wide upon seeing the royal leader of Atlantis. He briefly bows, an action which only elicits a tried sigh from Namor.
Gentle: Your majesty, we are not looking to further tax your gracious hospitality. We are here on serious and time sensitive business.
Namor: Yes, I know. Your vibranium has grown inert. Your new kingdom crumbles. This is not my doing, nor is it my concern.
Gentle: With respect, your majesty, the woes of one kingdom will always find a way to their neighbor. Surely you wish to help us in this dark time.
Gentle: Allow us just a few moments of your very valuable attention and we can be on our way.
- Transmission #2
Namor: The leader of the Dora Milaje has already been here, demanding answers and tossing about accusations.
Gentle: They are a most forceful and focused group. I am sure they meant no offense and were only eager to assist our people.
Gentle: May we, respectfully, inquire what they asked you? Just so we can get up to speed on this issue.
Namor: Ask me? They confronted me. They tossed vibranium at my feet which crumbled like the ancient wooden hull of a sunken ship.
Gentle: When you have faced vibranium in the past… Have you ever had any counter measures that could cause such an effect?
Namor: That question has the air of further accusation about it. Mind your tone, and be on your way.
Gentle: I am sorry. I am not saying you did anything. However is it not possible you had battle plans that could have fallen into the wrong hands?
Namor: Summoner, I suggest you lead this bothersome pest away from my sight as fast as you possibly can.
- Transmission #3
Caption: Namor begins walking back towards the gate. Gentle, standing firmly, calls out after him.
Gentle: We're just asking for a bit of knowledge then we can do the rest ourselves. You know the old saying: give a man a fish…
Caption: Namor stops and swiftly turns. His eyes a focused glare of contempt.
Namor: No fish has ever been given, they are only taken. That is what your kind does. They take, ravage, and destroy.
Namor: The only time the unending attacks from the surface seem to cease is when you bafflingly turn to your victims to beg for help.
Gentle: You can't blame all those who dwell above for the sins of a few. I apologize for my careless phrasing, I wasn't thinking.
Namor: This is not a lesson that shall be taught with harsh words and stern tones. A more severe education shall need to be applied.
Gentle: If you're seeking a fight then I respectfully forfeit. I'll return to Wakanda and leave you to your victory and kingdom.
Namor: You shall not deny my anger a venue. If you refuse to battle then your chaperone, the Summoner, shall face my fury.
- Transmission #4 - Before fighting Namor
