Showdown was the second Quest in Act 3 Chapter 4: Thanos' Challenge, and was released on December 10, 2014. As part of the Prologue Initiative, this Quest was retired from the game on November 10, 2021.
It was preceded by 3.4.1: The Deal and succeeded by 3.4.3: Intimidation.

The Collector: The pact has been made. Thanos, the Maestro will stoop to battle you only if you defeat the Summoner in the Contest.
Thanos: And if I defeat the Maestro -- all the power of all his Iso-8 will belong to me.
Maestro: You power-hungry peon... Very well, Thanos!

The Collector: Be warned, Thanos! The Battlerealm, the Contest... it is all the creation of the Maestro. The Collector: It is tricky to face a foe in his own territory. Thanos: None of that matters against me. I am Thanos! Thanos: And I've got him now.

The Collector: Ah, Summoner! Never a dull moment in the Contest, is there? I suppose this means... The Collector: If you fail, Thanos could gain the power of the Iso-8. And the power to rule the multiverse... or destroy it.
