White Tiger

White Tiger is a Mystic Champion. Being a Mystic Champion, she has a Class Bonus against Cosmic Champions, but is weak to Science Champions.

Bio[]

Ava Ayala grew up idolizing her brother Hector, the first White Tiger, but the death of their parents caused him to give up the mantle of White Tiger and the mystical amulets that granted him powers. These amulets passed to Ava, but with them came the source of their power– the Tiger God, an ancient being embodying humanity’s earliest fears. Though she knows the dangers of the Tiger God’s power, Ava wields it in the hopes of upholding her family’s legacy. Now, she is the darkness outside the cave. The monster that monsters fear. The White Tiger.

Mechanics[]

Striking with precision and escalating damage, White Tiger excels using the strengths of her Opponents against them. Gaining Power as her Opponent gains Power, and then taking even more with a potent Power Steal means that White Tiger is an exceptional hunter of Power Gains. In the right matchups, she can utterly overwhelm her foes with vicious Special Attacks.

Power Of A God

The might of the Tiger God grants White Tiger Immunity to Nullify.
White Tiger has -70% Offensive Combat Power Rate, but she Passively gains Power equal to 50% of the Power the Opponent gains.

Dev Notes: Finding the right matchups is key for White Tiger’s Power economy. Against foes with Power Gains or Energizes, she’ll share part of the benefits and be able throw constant Special Attacks.

Strength Of A Fighter

When inflicted with a Damaging Debuff, White Tiger has a 20% chance for each Buff on the Opponent to Purify it.
Dashing forwards grants a non-stacking Precision Passive increasing Critical Rating by +3375 for 2 seconds, paused during White Tiger’s Special Attacks.

Dev Notes: While it’s not as broadly consistent as an Immunity, White Tiger’s Purify can be much more encompassing in the right matchups. The Precision is potent so try to keep space for constant Dash Attacks, and weave in your Specials for flurries of Critical Hits.

Combo-Ending Attacks-Nullify

Combo-Ending Attacks Nullify a Power Gain or Energize Buff on the Opponent.

Dev Notes: While White Tiger gains a percentage of the Power her Opponent gains, sometimes you’ll need to stop your Opponent’s Power from spiraling out of control. A quick Medium 2 or Light 4 will Nullify a threatening Power Gain, but you could always stop your combos short if you’d like to play a more dangerously lucrative match.

Signature Ability[]

The Darkness Outside The Cave

At the start of each fight, inflict a Fear Passive reducing Unblockable Ability Accuracy by a flat 100% and removing Perfect Block Chance for 20 seconds.
Once per fight when either Champion drops to 15% of their Max Health, White Tiger gains a Power Gain Buff granting 100% of her Max Power over 6 seconds. As a Defender, this only triggers once per Quest.

Dev Notes: This Fear can stop an Unblockable opener or a rampaging Titania, and provides a starting safety net while you climb to a Special 3. The Power Gain Buff ensures she closes out fights in style, and can pick up a cheeky Defender KO if you don’t bring a counter.

Special Attacks[]

On activation, gain a Fury Buff increasing Attack Rating by +1455 for 20 seconds, paused during Special Attacks. Max stacks: 5.
For each personal Fury Buff, each hit Power Steals 1% of the Opponent’s current Power, and White Tiger gains 200% of the Power Stolen. After triggering, this effect goes on cooldown until the end of White Tiger’s next Special Attack.
Finishing a Special Attack with at least 1 Bar of Power grants an Unblockable Passive for 1.5 seconds. Cooldown: 20 seconds.

Special 1 - Fury Rush

This Special Attack grants White Tiger 1 additional Fury Buff.

Dev Notes: This Special kickstarts White Tiger’s ramp and gets her Fury Buffs going. It’s also the cheaper option if you need to get her Power Steal off cooldown.

Special 2 - Primal Tempest

The final hit inflicts a Bleed Debuff dealing 9700 Direct Damage over 3 seconds, paused while the Opponent is Indestructible.
While this Bleed is active, the Opponent cannot heal and the healing denied is transferred to White Tiger, up to 5% of her Max Health per second.
When this Bleed expires, Nullify all Regeneration Buffs on the Opponent.

Dev Notes: This Bleed is short but juicy, especially if you’ve built up Fury Buffs, and the thrill of the hunt allows the Tiger God to steal the Opponent’s healing. This Special also has a ton of hits, so with lots of Fury Buffs it can Power Steal a ridiculous amount.

Special 3 - Avatar Of Fear

As an Attacker, this Special Attack cannot be activated unless White Tiger is charging or performing a Heavy Attack.
This Special Attack grants White Tiger 2 additional Fury Buffs. These can exceed the stack limit.
Inflict a Fear Debuff for 40 seconds.

Dev Notes: Between Power Gains, Power Steals, and ye olde Mystic Dispersion, White Tiger can frequently end up with too much of a good thing, so her Special 3 has an “opt in” clause. But when she does choose to unleash the true might of the Tiger, it lets her exceed her normal ramp limits up to 7 Fury Buffs, and gives her a sizable window of safety with Fear.

Mano A Mano		Gladiator: Charging a Heavy Attack while the Opponent's back is against the wall grants a Fury Buff increasing Attack Rating by +50.5% for 2 seconds, paused during Gladiator's Special Attacks. What’s Yours Is Mine
- With mechanics that grant Power and healing based on the Opponent’s Power and healing, White Tiger can gain an excess of resources in the right matchups.

Specials Galore
- With her highly-potent Power Steal, White Tiger can throw extremely frequent and increasingly deadly Special Attacks.

Fear
- A new effect that reduces Unblockable Ability Accuracy and prevents Perfect Blocks, Fear provides extra safety against threatening Defenders. Don’t fear Hulkling, Hulkling should fear you.

Weaknesses[]

Power Control
- White Tiger’s outrageous Power Gains are her most constant threat on defense and offense, so Science Champions with access to Withers and Petrifies like Quicksilver, She-Hulk, and Sandman can reduce or even reverse her Power. Doctor Doom can also steal her Power with a Special 1 as well
Stagger and Neutralize
- While her Buffs can’t be Nullified, Titania, Anti Venom, Doctor Doom or Mr. Fantastic can Stagger White Tiger before they trigger and severely kneecap her threats. Rintrah, Tigra and Wiccan can also Neutralize her Furies.
Defensive Disruptions
- White Tiger relies on constantly escalating momentum to maximize her damage. Against Defenders and nodes that delay this rhythm with effects like Unstoppable, Evade or Miss, White Tiger’s damage can sputter out.

Recommended Masteries[]

Deep Wounds
- White Tiger’s Bleed is potent but has a very short duration, meaning every point in Deep Wounds is extremely impactful. At max rank she can almost double the Bleed’s duration.

Cruelty
- White Tiger’s Precision can give her Special Attacks frequent Critical Hits, so invest in Critical Damage to get the most bang for your buck.

Mystic Dispersion
- Being a Champion in the Mystic Class, White Tiger definitely wants investment in the absurdly strong Mystic Dispersion Mastery.
