Dialogue[]
Caption: With Sasquatch restrained, Kushala banishes Tanaraq and restores control to Walter who stays behind to sleep off the nightmarish experience.
Caption: With Tanaraq gone the storm dissipates, revealing the remnants of an abandoned Canadian military research bunker.
Caption: Passing through the dilapidated gates, Chee'ilth feels unease at the sight of all the "radiation" and "biohazard" signs strapped to the nearby fences.
Chee'ilth: You said you'd heard stories about me, eh Kushala?
Kushala: Yes, tales of your battles against men and monsters alike.
Chee'ilth: Did you ever hear about the first time I came face to face with it all? The night that changed my life forever?
- Transmission #1 - Upon starting the Quest
Chee'ilth: We had a nuclear power plant near my home town. Everyone worked there. Folks called it "experimental". A little too experimental.
Chee'ilth: Something in the reactor failed, and the whole place went "boom". Not like "nuclear boom", more like "Gamma Radiation boom".
Chee'ilth: My foster father worked there. He... wasn't the best. By a long shot. But I couldn't leave him there to die.
Chee'ilth: It wasn't until I got to the plant that I saw how bad the fire was, and how big the things crawling out of it were.
Chee'ilth: But I went in anyway. Dragged the old man out, made sure he was safe. I'm still not sure he deserved to be saved, but I know it was the right thing to do.
Chee'ilth: It was that choice that showed the spirits I was worthy of their blessing. Brother Grizzly and Sister Eagle.
Chee'ilth: They came to me, gave me the power I needed to protect everyone and save the people who'd been mutated into mindless radioactive beasts.
Chee'ilth: I've heard a lot of old stories about people getting super powers through radioactive accidents. Looking back, I guess I did too, in a way.
Chee'ilth: But I've seen what actually happens when it goes wrong, and trust me, you don't want the kind of powers Gamma Radiation can give you.
- Transmission #2
Kushala: Hearing your story, I realize our stories are two sides of a similar coin.
Kushala: My family was taken from me, and in my anger I became host to something that gave me the power to avenge the ones I'd lost.
Kushala: But rather than succumb to its rage, I learned to control it. Understand it. Understand myself. And now I think I understand you as well, Chee'ilth.
Chee'ilth: True strength comes from a place of compassion, tempered by courage. It comes from wisdom, and resolve.
Abomination (Immortal): A touching sentiment, but an ignorant one. In my experience, rage is by far the more potent weapon!
Kushala: Disgusting fiend! Stay back, lest you learn what hellfire can do in the hands of a Sorcerer Supreme!
Chee'ilth: Hold on a sec Kushala, something's not right here and I think I just figured out what...
Chee'ilth: Tay! Ḱéwḱ.wet! This place is littered with warning signs, but I haven't seen a single barrel or bucket of hazardous materials since we got in.
Chee'ilth: Either you helped yourself like this was an all-you-can-irradiate buffet, or you've done something with whatever waste was here.
Chee'ilth: So spill, what's going on here? Help us help you. No way you want to spend forever being afraid of poking your eye out with your own face.
- Transmission #3
Abomination (Immortal): Clever observation huntress! You're right, I put the wealth of radioactive materials stored in this bunker to better use.
Abomination (Immortal): With the aid of some like-minded monsters, I was able to craft a crude but effective "Gamma Bomb". What it lacked in sophistication...
Abomination (Immortal): It more than made up for in scale! And when it goes off, the resulting explosion will be big enough to bathe an entire planet in Gamma Radiation!
Kushala: I sense no sign of it being here. Where is it?! Tell us where you've taken it and I might not reduce you to ashes.
Abomination (Immortal): Kill me if you like, the One Below All will simply restore me to my former glory!
Abomination (Immortal): But we can't risk further interference from any of you.
Abomination (Immortal): So consider this bunker your tomb, and me your designated grave digger!
